Paste Sessions

One of my favorite Paste sessions was with The David Wax Museum about a month ago. Our usual location for our sessions is in our studio, but we had a bit of an impromptu session out in the back of the offices that made for a lovely setting with tall grass and a white brick wall. It was a great moment for me to realize that I am able to be a part of producing something so beautiful and raw. Here’s a photo of them sound checking while we were setting up:

Here’s another photo I found of David Wax and Sux Slezak in the Paste backyard. Their take away session isn’t up on Paste yet, but their session inside the studio is. Go to: to see their Live at Paste session. It was one of my favorite sessions to edit because of their energy, chemistry and the true passion for the music they’re playing.

Since the last time I blogged, I’ve been started working as an a/v intern at Paste Magazine down in Atlanta. Apart from filming awesome bands in the studio, we went down to Pensacola, FL for DeLuna Fest to do some exclusive sessions with bands on the beach. The beach in October, listening to acoustic versions of artists songs.. I’m not complaining. We did a session with Still Corners in our editor’s hotel room because the background sound of the concerts going on were a little too loud for Still Corners’ to try and record over. Luckily it turned out beautifully. It was close quarters so I decided to utilize the backlight and silhouette them. It worked out beautifully with their mellow ambiance and the ocean backdrop.
